Cats

So, I haven't posted in a long time....but I've still been doodling!  I just submitted another design for one of Spoonflower's weekly contests.  It was all about cats in a damask inspired style.

I imported the designs in to Illustrator and converted them to vector...

Geoff said my designs don't usually have a lot of color variation, so I decided to try spicing this one up...as evidenced by the crazy color palette.

I played around a little bit, but something just wasn't clicking.  

So I tried to integrate the damask elements with the cat stuff and...bingo!

I like this way more.

The design made me think a lot about a family member that I recently lost.  She was very dear to me.  She loved her cats and her favorite color was teal.  This is for Diane.
